I’m a linguist and cognitive scientist by training, and have been a writing professor since 2014. Currently living with my kid, my partner, and our 3 cats in Western New York. I’m a progressive liberal vegetarian. I swim, I bike, I play the violin, and of course, I knit. Which is what this whole thing is about, anyway.

  1. Hi! I was hoping to make the Chevalier mittens out of some Beaverslide yarn from my stash. What size needles are you using for yours? Also, do you have a feel for how much yarn the pair of mittens will require? I think I can get away with one skein, but I don’t want to run out!

  2. Would it be possible to get a copy of the skier hat pattern? The Bea Ellis website is no longer up and I have tried calling her and leaving a message and get no response. I know someone who skis the birke every year and I would love to knit her this hat.
